Something Different and Fabulous! Quick Coconut Coffee Bread from 1953!

It was very common to have unexpected guests in the 1950s. This 1950s recipe was and is perfect for that or if you just want something wonderful with your coffee!

Notes

1 Loaf White Bread, Unsliced
1 Can Sweetened Condensed Milk
1 Cup Shredded Coconut
1/2 Cut Nuts, Your Favorite, Chopped (I used Almonds)
 
Set oven to 350. Trim crust off of entire loaf. Slice down in diagonal wedges until almost the bottom but don't cut through. Place on greased baking sheet. Brush condensed milk well all over top and sides. Combine coconut and nuts and sprinkle all over the condensed milk. Bake 25-30 minutes. Watch it so it doesn't burn.
